North American Pre-Order Retail Customers (not applicable to pre-purchase customers)

If you’re a North American pre-order customer (you ordered a copy of Guild Wars 2 but did not pay for the game in full) you must return to the original retail location and pay for Guild Wars 2 in full. The retailer will provide you with a game box that includes your final serial code for your Guild Wars 2 account. You have 2 days starting on launch day—Aug 28—to apply the final serial code to your account. After this 2-day grace period ends, you will be unable to access the game until you activate the final serial code.

North American Pre-Purchase Physical Retail Customers (not applicable to digital editions or pre-order customers)

If you’re a North American physical pre-purchase customer (you pre-purchased a physical copy of Guild Wars 2 and paid in full) you must return to the original retail location with valid proof of purchase. The retailer will provide you with a game box that includes your final serial code for your Guild Wars 2 account. You have 5 days starting on launch day—Aug 28—to apply the final serial code to your account. After this 5-day grace period ends, you will be unable to access the game until you activate the final serial code.

The following North American players who pre-ordered or pre-purchased a physical copy need to return to the retailer where they made their original transaction to pick up their Guild Wars 2 box and apply their final serial code to continue playing.

North American players who have a:

  • Guild Wars 2 Collector’s Edition: Pre-purchase
  • Guild Wars 2 Standard Edition: Pre-Purchase
  • Guild Wars 2 Standard Edition: Pre-Order
